Alta Gateway Station in Utah Wins Development of the Year

Newswire, April 4, 2018 — Wood Partners, a leader in real estate development and construction, announced their downtown development, Alta Gateway Station, has been named “Development of the Year” by the Utah Apartment Association.

The Utah Apartment Association hires a secret shopper to shop all of the nominated properties. Properties are judged on the development design, comfort through features and amenities, how the development adds to the neighborhood and if it complements the surrounding areas well. The Utah Apartment Association also judged staff knowledge, customer service and the cleanliness and maintenance of the building. This is the first award for Wood Partners from the association.

Wood Partners Breaks Ground at New Portland Community

Wood Partners marked the occasion with a charitable contribution to the Janus Youth Programs, a local non-profit serving at-risk youth throughout the region.

Wood Partners’ Property Named Community of the Year

SAN DIEGOFeb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Wood Partners, a leader in real estate development and construction, announced The Rey has been named the “Community of the Year” and awarded the title of “Best High-Rise Community” at the 2017 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Competition. The Community of the Year Award is the most prestigious award and top honor for the annual competition.

Judging criteria was based on the development design and concept of the project, the site design and footprint of the building, quality of common areas, floor plans and unit designs, product design and curb appeal, the project costs and the overall success in the marketplace.

Wood Partners Announces Acquisition of San Francisco Development

January 7, 2018 — Wood Partners, a national leader in real estate development and acquisition, announced today the closed acquisition and start of construction of a 172-unit mixed-use development in the Potrero Hill district of San Francisco.

Alta Potrero Hill is located at 1301 Sixteenth Street near Showplace Square, and in close proximity to Jackson Playground, California College of Arts, new Warriors Arena, UCSF Medical Center and Kaiser Mission Bay. Strategically located near several major tech employers, including Airbnb and Adobe, Alta Potrero Hill is also just blocks away from public bus lines and a mile from both the 16th Street Bart Station and the 22nd Street Caltrain station.

Wood Partners Management Team and Fayez Sarofim & Co. Purchase Majority Stake in Wood Partners From CBRE Global Investors

The management team of multifamily real estate developer Wood Partners (Wood) announced today that it has partnered with Fayez Sarofim & Co. (Sarofim) to purchase all of the controlling stake of Wood Partners previously owned by a closed-end private equity real estate fund managed by CBRE Global Investors.

Wood Partners is one of the nation’s largest developers of multifamily communities, with a portfolio of more than 20,000 apartment homes in more than 20 cities across the United States.

Wood’s management team has been the minority owner, holding 49 percent of the company, since it sold 51 percent to CBRE Global Investors in 2008.

“We are really proud to be long-term partners with Fayez Sarofim & Co.,” said Wood Partners CEO Joseph Keough. “Our team is excited about this transaction and looks forward to the future and the opportunities this new partnership brings for us both.”

Keough will serve as Chairman and CEO of the company, which will retain the name Wood Partners. Patrick Trask, President of Wood Partners, and Ryan Dearborn, former Chairman and CEO of Wood, will also serve on the board. In addition, Christopher Sarofim, Vice Chairman of Sarofim, and CEO Gentry Lee will round out the five-person board.
